Item: Pair of Covered Vegetable Dishes

Make: A. Lanternier (Limoges, France)

Age: Circa 1920

Construction: Porcelain

Dimensions:

  • Round Dish - 10" Wide (With Handles) x 5 1/2" Tall (With Lid)
  • Oval Dish - 11 3/4" Long x 7 1/2" Wide (With Handles) x 5 1/4" Tall (With Lid)

Condition: Very good pre-owned antique condition. Oval dish has a hairline crack extending halfway through the width of the bowl, but is still very solid. Minor scratches/gold loss on the handles and lid handles of both dishes. Please see photos. 

Details: Antique porcelain pair of covered vegetable dishes by A. Lanternier of Limoges, France. Each piece is decorated with a simple, elegant gold ivy rim on a white background. The company was founded in 1855 by Frederic Lanternier and became A. Lanternier when his son Alfred joined the business in 1887.
