Derek and the Dominos Generic Tour Poster, ca. 1970

Item: Derek and the Dominos Generic Tour Poster

Make: ATCO Records

Age: 1970

Construction: Glossy Card Stock

Dimensions:  29" T x 20" W

Condition:  Excellent vintage condition. Very slight curl, 'dog ears' on corners. Small ink spot in upper center right, printing error. Little to no fading. Near mint.

Design Details:  Glossy card stock with bright yellow background, red star outlines and blue 'floating head' photos of the band members - Eric Clapton, Jim Gordon, Carl Radle and Bobby Whitlock. In upper left corner is a declaration in red "The World's Greatest Rock & Roll Band Direct From England". The ATCO Records logo appears in a large red star near center bottom. A blank white area at the bottom of the poster would have been for concert promoters to fill in details.

Origin Details: Eric Clapton formed Derek and the Dominos with Jim Gordon, Carl Radle and Bobby Whitlock in 1969-70. This poster, produced by ATCO (Atlantic) Records, promoted their only tour, which supported their double record set, "Layla, and Other Assorted Love Songs".  This has often been considered Clapton's best album.
