Condition: Very good. Hairline scratches and spots of discoloration throughout. Bases have some tarnishing and rusting on the bottom sides. Please see photos!

Details: A handsome, heavy set of matching polished brass bookends from Virginia Metalcrafters. Each is stamped with the company hallmark and the item number on the underside of the base.Ā 

Virginia Metalcrafters (VMC) was a renowned American foundry based in Waynesboro, Virginia, celebrated for its high-quality hand-cast brass, iron, and pewter pieces.Ā In 1951, VMC signed a prestigious license with Colonial Williamsburg to produce authentic brass and iron reproductions. This relationship lasted decades and established VMC as the primary manufacturer for numerous historic sites, including Mount Vernon, Charleston, Monticello, and the Smithsonian Institution.Ā Virginia Metalcrafters ceased all operations and closed its foundry doors in December 2006.
