Model: Argus (note Gilbert made a couple slight variations to the woodwork this model)

Movement: 8 Day

Age: Circa 1885

Construction: Walnut 

Dimensions: 19 3/4” Tall x 10 3/4” Wide x 4” Deep

Condition:  Very good. Movement fully tested, running and keeping good time. Case is in very nice shape. There is a small, stable split in the bottom of the backboard. This is purely cosmetic and is not visible when the clock is displayed, as it is located on the backside. Please see photos. 

NOTE: We take great care in packing our clocks for shipping.  Once your clock arrives it’s possible it may  need a minor adjustment due to the handling during shipping.

Chimes: Chimes on the half hour and hour

Details: the Argus model was Introduced by Gilbert in 1885, and was the only model offered in walnut with an eight day movement. Gilbert made several slight variations to the craftsmanship including the woodwork, pendulum, and window stencil graphics. This one had an upgraded gilt bronze leaf motif on the adjustable pendulum.
